FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM

Assisting economically challenged youth and families!


Partnerships

To provide recreation opportunities to the St. Charles community, this program is supported by funding partnerships with the St. Charles Park Foundation.

To help children learn to love swimming, additional funding for aquatic programs at Swanson Pool and Otter Cove Aquatic Park has been granted by the For Scout Foundation.

For those with a love and appreciation of dance, additional funding for dance program registrations including recital costume fees and apparel ordered through the St. Charles Dance Academy had been granted by the JSG Dance Fund.

Qualifications & Application Procedures

Those who qualify may apply for up to $750 per household per year to offset the cost of registering for recreation programs or memberships. Facility/park rentals, birthday parties, and aquatic 10-visit passes excluded.

Printed copies can be picked up at Pottawatomie Community Center, 8 North Avenue. All information provided will be kept confidential. 


All applicants are required to...

  • prove residency, as you must reside within the St. Charles Park District's boundaries

  • establish a resident household account with St. Charles Park District

  • supply your most recently-filed Federal Tax Form 1040

  • provide any other documentation of additional state aid (Link, SSI, Medicaid, etc.)

Submit application to the St. Charles Park District, 8 North Avenue, St. Charles, IL 60174.

Allow a minimum of seven business days for the District to process your request. Following verification of the information provided on this form with the required additional documents, applicants will be notified on the amount, if any, of financial aid awarded.

Financial aid is awarded based on residency, yearly income* within the eligibility guidelines (shown below) and fund availability.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



*Yearly income includes the total income from all sources before any deductions. Financial aid standards follow the income eligibility guidelines for the United States Department of Agriculture reduced lunch program. For more details: click here

Financial aid recipients must reapply annually. Submitting an application or qualifying for financial aid is not a guarantee that the program request will be granted.

History

Since the establishment of the Financial Aid Program in 1984 by the St. Charles Park District Board of Commissioners, requests from residents have increased with each passing year. Each year, more than $20,000 is awarded to recipients. Typically, the program serves an estimated 100 families.
